And on the Ides of March, no less. Happy Friday!
Will Edison succumb? Ah, well, you’ll just have to wait until Monday to find that one out. In the meantime, what do you think?
Delicious alcohol. Mayhem will ensue.
“she’s the queen of the silver dollar, she rules her smokey kingdom,
her sceptre is a wineglass, and a barstool is her throne…”
Mmmm, character development and comic book time rolled together in a delicious episode.
“It’s nine o’clock on a Saturday
The Regular crowd shuffles in
There’s an old man sitting next to me
Makin’ love to his tonic and gin
He says, “Son, can you play me a memory
I’m not really sure how it goes
But it’s sad and it’s sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man’s clothes.”
I had this in my mind when I read the page.
Once again Charlie, Nail on the Head.
I keep looking in her eyes and seeing, “No, no, I really really shouldn’t.”
Am I the only one that thinks its a very sad look?
I see it as a “Dang, there was so much I wanted to get done today” kind of look.
Fair, I guess I was looking a little too much into it.
Not at all. It’s a pretty wistful look.
that’s another of my favourites, thanks.
Alcholic friends can be an alcholic’s worst enemy.
Unsympathetic (or Sympathetic) friends can be an alcholic’s worst enemy.
Strangers can be an alcholic’s worst enemy.
Family can be an alcholic’s worst enemy.
Uh . . . who’s left?
Most alcholics I’ve known (including family) are bipolar. I have two uncles whose lives were seventy-year train wrecks (I so enjoy mixed metaphors, hee, hee).
We’ve seen what happens when Edison remembers Rosemary. We’ve also seen Larry’s cuddling response. The question is, will this become a ‘love quadrangle’?
I laugh, I love, my heart aches.
Take good care of Edison. Larry is a good start.
Larry could be very good for Edison.
It’s funny-I was thinking of the time, shortly after Phyl died, when Edison said: “Hey, I don’t haveta give up drinkin’ now!” and Anya facepalmed. Larry would’ve had a different reaction.
“Love quadrangle?” Should I be changing the characters in the header? Maybe adding someone?
Edison and Rosemary count for two (snick). Poor Larry.
Whatever triangle takes shape, I guarantee it won’t be an equilateral. More like scalene, with shifting sides and angles.
A triangle is a partially deflated circle. Just blow it up!
And Rosemary making the triangle a quadrilateral? She could be what we call a “deal breaker.”
Another thought . . . Anya AND Larry could be VERY good for Edison. Who ever said love triangles were equilateral, or equiangular for that matter?
Euclidean magician: “Ladies and gentlemen . . . I will now turn a triangle into a circle! The sum of the angles is 180. Say, that sounds like a straight line and a straight line is contiuous with no ‘breaks’, but that sounds like a circle . . . right?” THE CIRCLE OF LOVE!!! Lets all join hands!!! Woo Hoo!!!
Oh, that sound? That’s Euclid spinning in his grave.
I love me for my mind.
There’s no better pub than an Irish one! I love how you wrote Paddy’s accent. I always have trouble figuring out Fife’s–sometimes I’m worried he sounds Cockney rather than Irish.
Hmmm, I wonder if it will only be five hours, if Edison is starting out with a free pint. You can’t turn down free booze!
