Well, would you look at that. Lieutenant Lyssa Strada, newly appointed by Internal Affairs, to H.M.S. Iolanthe. Even though she’s new, she’s seen enough shenanigans to not be surprised when another Victoria and a Stephanie show up out of nowhere.
Just wait till Captain Eleanor and Space Victoria get a gander of these two!
This was a fun strip. It was one of those wonderful times where the characters come up with the dialogue. I put Stephanie and Victoria together, and Vickie immediately complimented Steph’s outfit, which led to Larry’s comment, and from then on it was all downhill. I love it when that happens.

If I have time this weekend I’m going to rewind and reread and see if I can remember some of the pointier plot points….
Any suggestion regarding which episode I start at?
hoo-boy, that’s a tall order. I don’t even know where to start, and I wrote the darn thing.
Let’s see… Eleanor pushed her sister Victoria through the discombobulationotron before Lyssa came back from being a pirate, so she didn’t know about all that. Anything with H.M.S. Iolanthe will usually involve Stephanie.
Maybe start with “Tinker Belle (I love that title),” the wonderful guest art from melaredblu that started this whole mess.

And for Vampire Vicky hersaelf…
Thank you for the references! I peeked down one rabbit hole a short ways, then the next, then got distracted by the existence of Mancanilla and his uncanny resemblence to Toivo, and then realized these aren’t rabbit holes, it’s a whole ant farm of interconnected alternative plot pathways. I may need a Big Book of Kittens of my own to wind down with.
It really is an ant farm made of rabbit holes, isn’t it? I can jump into anywhere and start reading, and quite often I’ll be reminded of something I forgot.
“Oh right, Edison did (insert weird thing here), didn’t she?” It’s kind of fun, isn’t it?
I created the damn thing, and it always surprises me.
“Oh, what a tangled web we weave when…”
…we try to figure out which chatacter is which and from which reality. Ì’e found it useful to simply enjoy thr conversations (and the art), and not concern (confuse?) myself with the details. 🙂
The characters know who they are, ang that’s good enough. XD
Oh, c’mon, it’s not that complicated.
There’s only one Stephanie, Edison, Anya, Reade, and Larry (so far).
There’s two Victorias – the one with the pointy teeth is Eleanor’s vampire sister (who we met in “The Importance of Being Eleanor”). The other is the most powerful killing machine available for home or military use.
There’s now two Lyssa Stradas. Our preggers Lyssa (from Lyssa and the Pirates), and now Lieutenant Lyssa Strada, who will become famous in “Utopia, Unlimited I & II.”
And three Eleanors – Captain Eleanor, commander of H.M.S. Iolanthe, Dread Pirate Queen Eleanor, and “Soft Eleanor (as DPQ Eleanor calls her).”
There’s two Nelsons, though one is called Allen, and two Toivos, though one is Mancanilla. Oh, and three Geoffrey Thorpes, one for each world.
There was one Simon, but he lives in another comic, “The M9 Girls.”
See? All cleared up.
I wonder what the Iolanthe equivalent of Miffy would be…
A cat that thinks it’s human?
Pirate Lyssa grew into her role, gaining confidence and leadership ability as she grew. Lieutenant Lyssa seems to be starting out at that level–jnteresting.
If I recall correctly, Stephanie is from a different reality altogether. 🙂
Exthcuthe me, thir- that’s not a cat, that’s a Venusian Cat Queen.
Lieutenant Lyssa does indeed start out at Pirate Lyssa’s beginning level. She grows a lot during the two issues of “Utopia, Unlimited.” We’re seeing her appearance before those.
And Stephanie is from another reality. Let’s hope she never makes a return visit. It wouldn’t be good for her to learn her real identity.
